The Lamella Clarifier is designed for efficient solid-liquid separation in industrial and municipal wastewater 

 By installing inclined PP lamella modules inside the tank, the system significantly increases the effective settling area and improves suspended solids removal within a compact footprint. Settled sludge is collected through the sloped bottom hoppers and discharged from the flanged outlets, ensuring stable operation and convenient sludge handling.
Treatment capacity, tank dimensions, materials, inlet and outlet positions, sludge discharge system and auxiliary equipment can be customized according to specific project requirements.

Working Principle

Wastewater enters the inlet zone and is evenly distributed beneath the lamella settling modules. As the water flows upward through the inclined PP channels, suspended solids and coagulated flocs settle onto the module surfaces and slide downward under gravity.

The separated solids are collected in the bottom sludge hoppers and periodically discharged through the flanged outlets. Meanwhile, the clarified water rises to the upper collection zone, passes over the overflow weir and exits through the clarified water outlet.

Process Integration

The Lamella Clarifier can be integrated with equalization, chemical dosing, clarified water storage and sludge dewatering equipment to form a complete wastewater treatment solution.

Wastewater is first equalized to stabilize flow and water quality. Coagulants and flocculants are then added through the chemical dosing unit to promote floc formation. The conditioned wastewater enters the Lamella Clarifier for efficient solid-liquid separation. Clarified water flows to the clear water tank, while settled sludge is discharged to the sludge tank for further treatment.

According to project requirements, the collected sludge can be dewatered by a screw press or a plate and frame filter press.

Lamella Settling Module

The PP lamella tube module provides a large effective settling area within a compact tank volume. Wastewater flows upward through the inclined honeycomb channels, while suspended solids and formed flocs settle onto the tube surfaces and slide downward under gravity.

The standard 60° inclination promotes stable solid-liquid separation and reduces sludge accumulation inside the channels. Its modular structure allows flexible arrangement, convenient installation and easy replacement according to different tank dimensions and treatment requirements.

Sludge Collection & Discharge

The Lamella Clarifier is equipped with multiple sloped sludge hoppers to collect and concentrate settled solids efficiently. After separation in the lamella settling zone, sludge slides downward under gravity and gathers at the bottom of each hopper.

The concentrated sludge is discharged through independent flanged outlets and can be connected to a sludge tank, screw press or filter press for further treatment. The multi-hopper structure reduces sludge accumulation, improves discharge reliability and supports stable long-term operation.
