MBBR compact industrial waste water
treatment plant sewage treatment equipment
The moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR process) absorbs the advantages of traditional fluidized bed and biological contact oxidation processes, and has a good effect of nitrogen and phosphorus removal. The sewage continuously passes through the suspended filler in the MBBR reactor and gradually forms a biofilm on the inside and outside surfaces of the filler, and the sewage is purified through the action of microorganisms on the biofilm. The packing is free to move under the effect of swirling of the mixture in the reactor: For an aerobic reactor, the packing is moved by aeration; for an anaerobic reactor, it is stirred by a machine.
The MBBR system consists of an aeration tank (similar to an activated sludge tank) with special plastic carriers that provide a surface where a biofilm can grow. The carriers are made of a material with a density close to the density of water (1g/cm3). An example is high-density polyethylene (HDPE) which has a density close to 0.95 g/cm3. The carriers will be mixed in the tank by the aeration system and thus will have good contact between the substrate in the influent wastewater and the biomass on the carriers. To prevent the plastic carriers from escaping the aeration it is necessary to have a sieve on the outlet of the tank.
The process is applicable to high-contaminated wastewater such as meat processing wastewater, high-concentration organic wastewater, landfill leachate, etc. Meanwhile, for domestic sewage with low organic matter concentration, all water quality indexes of treated effluent can reach the national reuse index.
Feature
1. Impact load, long sludge age, less residual sludge, high efficiency and flexible operation.
2. The sludge concentration in the reactor is relatively high. Generally, the sludge concentration is 5 to 10 times that of the conventional activated sludge process, and the aeration tank sludge mass concentration can be as high as 30 to 40 g/L.
3. Head loss is small, should not be blocked, no backwash, generally do not return.
4. As the core of the MBBR process, the suspended filler has aerobic and anaerobic metabolic activity, and can be a good nitrogen and phosphorus removal.
